How budding bakers can apply for the chance to star in a new TV campaign

The search is on for Britain’s brightest home baker to star in a bread maker's national TV campaign.

Bread specialist Roberts wants a budding baker to appear in #ShareYourBakes that shows real people having fun making bread.

The campaign is a celebration of the nation’s love of home baking that’s put food on tables, brightened days and helped ease anxiety and uncertainty for so many during the coronavirus crisis.

Roberts Bakery wants to see the most delightful domestic doughy creations – whatever the standard.

It follows the recent launch of Roberts’ home baking kit - a dough-making bundle, made from the bakery’s own flour - that’s available to buy online and delivered to the door.

Roberts wants clips and images to air in a special burst of national TV advertising on Friday, June 5.

Those chosen will be joining the likes of celebrities such as Loose Women’s Nadia Sawalha, Stephen Fry and TV presenter Holly Willoughby who have also recently posted pictures of their freshly baked bread to social media.

Roberts Bakery’s Megan Harrison said: “More of us than ever have got into home baking in recent weeks - out of both necessity and pleasure.

“Rolling, kneading and mixing have a real calming quality, which forces you to be present in the moment. This makes bread baking a real stress buster and distraction from what’s going on around us.

"Studies link it to positivity and let’s not forget how good it feels to transform a few simple ingredients into a beautiful - and even not so beautiful - loaf. It’s a real source of delight.

“So, in our first national TV ad, we wanted to share these fabulous feelings with the nation. To celebrate home bakers everywhere - young and old, experienced and novice, tidy and messy - who are as passionate about baking bread as we are, show us what you can do.”

Roberts is the first major bakery brand in the UK to sell directly to shoppers from its newly opened e-shop - partnering with national delivery service DPD to offer next day delivery.
