How Bristol City duo Tomas Kalas and Nathan Baker are keeping fit together during postponement

Nathan Baker and Tomas Kalas may be an excellent partnership in defence, but they are also demonstrating a close bond off the pitch, too.

The defensive duo are keeping fit together during the coronavirus postponement, making sure they meet the levels of training required of them by Bristol City during the time off.

Yesterday, both Kalas and Baker's partners posted videos of the four of them going for a run at Surrey's Virginia Water Lake.

With City having taken a break from the training ground due to the football season being suspended, the club have supplied the players with some fitness regimes in order to keep them sharp away from the pitch.

It was therefore noticeable that both Baker and Kalas were wearing sports vests over the top of their t-shirts in order to keep Bristol City informed of their exercise.

The vests often have GPS trackers inbuilt into them that monitor how far and how fast the players have run.

With both Baker and Kalas having suffered from niggling injuries at points this season, it is interesting to see the duo running together.

It could well suggests that they have similar training plans to keep fit during their time away from the Robins.

Baker has previously spoken about the close bond he has with his defensive teammates, including Kalas, Taylor Moore and Ashley Williams.

Speaking in November, the 28-year-old revealed that the Robins' centre-backs were consistently learning from each other.

He said: "It’s nice to have the competition with strength in defenders we have.

"It’s really to have that healthy competition with Ashley coming in, Tomas Kalas returning from injury and Taylor. It keeps you on your toes and keeps us pushing for that place.

"We always help each other as much as possible. You have Taylor who has come through, he’s young, and Ashley has had an amazing career with bags of experience that he can pass on as well.

"We go into each day at training learning off each other and that shows our togetherness and hopefully it proves in our games."
