How Brentford, Millwall and QPR compare for the fees paid to agents over the past year

Brentford paid more money to agents and intermediaries than London rivals Millwall and Queens Park Rangers combined in the past year, figures have shown.

The Football Association has today (Thursday) published details of the total payments made by clubs to registered intermediaries between February 1, 2018 and January 31, 2019, taking into account two separate transfer windows.

And the figures show that the net total paid by Brentford to agents and intermediaries in that period was £1,905,236, while the Bees' west London rivals QPR spent £1,437,817 and Millwall paid £383,954.

The figures take into account the summer signings made last year, including Said Benrahma at Brentford, and the January transfer window in 2019, while new contracts in the past year are also accounted for within the figures.

According to the figures, ten Championship clubs spent more money to agents and intermediaries in that period than Brentford, with Stoke City spending the most (£7,229,515).

At the other end of the spectrum, Rotherham United paid the least to agents and intermediaries, with the figures showing that the Yorkshire side spent £154,653 on agents and intermediaries.

In total, Championship clubs spent £50,481,293 in the period between February 1, 2018 and January 31, 2019.
