How Boojee Café grew from a 100 sq ft, 15-seat Bandra outlet with Rs 10 lakh investment to Rs 10 crore monthly revenue

Boojee Café, which started as a small 100-square-foot sandwich and coffee shop in Mumbai's Bandra in 2019, has now grown into a popular dining destination frequented by celebrities and influencers. Known for its artisanal coffee, gourmet comfort food and curated menu, the café has reportedly expanded into a thriving business with annual revenue of more than Rs 100 crore.

Started with Rs 10 lakh investment in Bandra

Founded by Rajdeep Singh Kukreja in 2019, Boojee began operations from a compact Bandra outlet that did not have a washroom facility.

According to Bizz India, Kukreja identified a gap in the market where healthy food options were in demand but often expensive, while affordable alternatives frequently lacked taste and quality.

To address this, he invested nearly Rs 10 lakh from his savings to launch the café. The first outlet had around 15 seats and focused on serving sandwiches and coffee.

Kukreja chose to open a café instead of a traditional restaurant as the format allowed longer operating hours, from 7 AM to 11 PM, giving the business more time to serve customers.

Curated menu becomes Boojee’s identity

Boojee's menu features a variety of dishes prepared with premium ingredients and contemporary flavours. Some of its popular offerings include Salmon Eggs Benedict, burgers, Crab Omelette and Mocha Bomboloni.

Other items that have gained popularity include crispy stuffed hash browns, Thecha Cottage Cheese sandwich, truffled avocado toast, pistachio baklava and signature berry chia bowls.

Bollywood personalities including Ananya Panday, Shahid Kapoor, Suhana Khan, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh have been spotted at the café, further strengthening its image as a celebrity and influencer hotspot.
