How badly will Celtic miss Callum McGregor amid potentially lengthy layoff? Monday Jury

Celtic's win at Alloa came at a cost. How big a loss will Callum McGregor be for Ange Postecoglou?

KEITH JACKSON: McGregor has been one of the few constants in Postecoglou’s selections all season so, of course, losing the skipper for any length of time will be a huge blow. But Reo Hatate already looks like a ready-made replacement for the central role.

ANDY NEWPORT: Not as big as it would have been a month ago. The arrival of Hatate and Yosuke Ideguchi has taken some of the pressure off the Celtic boss but Postecoglou could certainly live without another injury to one of his key men.

MICHAEL GANNON: Massive. Celtic had enough problems without the skipper being stricken. Ideguchi will need to find his feet and quickly now.

Alex Lowry announced himself to the Rangers fans with a goal on Friday. Should he expect more game time this term?

KEITH: The young man has certainly provided Giovanni van Bronckhorst with another option at a critical moment in the campaign. It’s very early days but Lowry seems set for big things. He may well have a part to play over these next few weeks.

ANDY: It’s all down to the lad himself. He certainly showed more against the Binos than the likes of Juninho Bacuna and Brandon Barker. If he can keep that up he’ll quickly climb up the pecking order at Ibrox.

MICHAEL: It is going to be tough for the kid. It’s a cut-throat world in an Old Firm title race and managers simply don’t get much chance to give youngsters the time to develop in the first team.

St Johnstone suffered a disaster going out of the Cup at Kelty. How long does Callum Davidson have to turn it around?

KEITH: It would be madness to pull the trigger on him after his achievements last season. Davidson deserves time to pull his side out of this lump. But he’s smart enough to know himself that he’s now skating on very thin ice.

ANDY: Hopefully he’ll have some time yet, given the fact it was the men above him at McDiarmid Park who pulled the rug from under him by selling Jason Kerr and Ali McCann so late in the summer window. That said, their results have been atrocious and Callum will know that can’t go on forever.

MICHAEL: Davidson deserves longer than most given his heroics last season. He needs backed by his chairman this week and then hope some new signings can spark a revival.

Leigh Griffiths was back on target for Dundee but does he have a future at Dens?

KEITH: It seems like his best bet and very possibly his only one. But Griffiths will have to work harder than he has in years to convince the club that he’s worth the punt now.

ANDY: Griffiths is the master of his own destiny on this front. James McPake has certainly given him enough chances but if the striker really wants to salvage his top-flight career he needs to get serious about getting fit.

MICHAEL: It’s up to him. Griffiths has the talent but it’s about getting the head down and getting in to shape. If he gets fully fit he’d walk into most Premiership teams but it’s a big if.
