How bad Covid is in each county as Ireland is put under Level 3 restrictions

The country will be officially placed under Level 3 restrictions from midnight after an announcement from Taoiseach Micheal Martin yesterday.

On Sunday night, the National Public Health Emergency Team made a shock recommendation that the country should be placed on a Level 5 lockdown.

But the Government moved to reject the advice and instead announced Level 3 restrictions nationwide.

Donegal and Dublin were both already under Level 3 measures following an continued spike in cases in the two counties.

But the new restrictions were introduced amid concerns over rising figures across the entire island.

While Dublin still remains the epicentre of the virus with the most cases, concerns have been raised about worrying trends in a number of other counties.

The incident rate per 100,000 is alarmingly high in counties like Donegal (233.1), Monaghan (172.7) and Roscommon (134.8).
