How at risk your county is of going to Level Four as NPHET discuss Ireland's Covid situation

Both Tanaiste Leo Varadkar and Minister Simon Harris have said it is "likely" more counties will soon move to Level Four.

NPHET are this afternoon meeting to discuss the latest Covid-19 trends in Ireland with the situation becoming more and more worying.

Donegal, Cavan and Monaghan are all moving to Level Four from midnight Thursday - but what counties are likely to be next?

Here's a look at the incidence rates in every county in the Republic of Ireland right now and which are looking ominous.

Level four danger zone

Clare, Meath, Cork and Sligo all have the worst virus rates in the country besides the three counties already at Level Four.

Each has a 14-day incidence rate of over 200 and could see more restrictions if cases continue rising in the coming days.

Clare and Meath in particular are in a very precarious position with a rate of around 300 - not far off the three Level Four counties.

Safe for now

Five counties currently have a rate of less than 100 and barring a nationwide move to Level Four, they should be ok.

These are Waterford, Wicklow, Carlow, Tipperary and Mayo.

However, the Government and health officials have warned the spread of the virus is very much a nationwide problem.

What happens at Level Four?

Essential retail and businesses that are primarily outdoors only can remain open.

All other retail and personal services will shut.

Pubs can remain open outdoors, serving a maximum of 15 customers.

Hotels can only remain open for existing guests, with museums and galleries also shutting.

Visits to care or nursing homes are banned, except in compassionate circumstances.

However, schools and creches will remain open with protective measures.
