Arsenal could be in luck if the Premier League decide to declare the 2019/20 cancelled.
The suspension following the coronavirus outbreak is currently set until April 4 which is when the Gunners are scheduled to host Norwich City at the Emirates.
Games that will need rescheduling should the season resume in April are the Premier League trips to Manchester City and Brighton as well as the FA Cup quarter-final against Sheffield United.
Reports from the Daily Express suggest that Premier League clubs will meet next week (commencing March 16) to discuss how this season will finish - which could result in Arsenal sneaking into a Champions League spot.
FA chairman Greg Clarke has also reportedly told the Premier League that he does not believe that the domestic football season will be completed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
According to the Times , Clarke said he did not think it was "feasible" that the season would be completed, with government guidance suggesting that the coronavirus will not peak in the UK until around mid-June.
The big talking point around this season potentially being ruled null and void is that Liverpool will not win their first league title for 30 years - something they're well on track to do - as the last completed Premier League season will be the one to go off.
For Arsenal, this could mean that their fifth placed finish from the 2018/19 season with Unai Emery gets them into next season's Champions League.
This will only be the case if Manchester City's ban from UEFA competitions (the Champions League and Europa League) remain. Should their ban be upheld, the Champions League places will go to Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal.
Current Gunners boss Mikel Arteta - who tested positive for coronavirus on Thursday (March 12) - has since spoken about his personal situation and is hoping to recover quickly.
"Thanks for your words and support," he tweeted . "Feeling better already.
"We're all facing a huge & unprecedented challenge. Everyone's health is all that matters right now.
"Protect each other by following the guidelines & we'll come through this together. Well done PL for making the right decisions."
