Arsenal could be set to receive two players from AS Roma in exchange for midfielder Granit Xhaka this summer, according to reports.
It has been reported in recent days that the Italian giants are interested in the Gunners’ midfielder, with Jose Mourinho reportedly keen to bring him to the Stadio Olimpico.
football.london understands that the Serie A outfit are confident of securing a deal for the Swiss, with Xhaka also understood to be intrigued by a move to the eternal city.
A deal could edge ever closer with Roma set to offer as many as two players to Arsenal in exchange.
According to Gazzette dello Sport, they are contemplating offering both Amadou Diawara and Cengiz Under, who the Gunners have reportedly had their eyes on in the past.
The former, a Guinean international, has been linked with a switch to the Emirates Stadium in the past.
At just 23 years of age, the defensive midfielder has made 58 appearances for Roma since his arrival at the club, and could well be a viable replacement should Xhaka leave the club this summer - though the Gunners have been strongly linked with a move for Brighton star Yves Bissouma this summer.
Meanwhile, the Gunners’ interest in Under is relatively recent. It has been reported that the North Londoners are eyeing a swoop this summer as they aim to bolster their wide options.
The Turkey international has been with Roma since 2017 and spent last season in the Premier League on-loan with Leicester City, scoring just two goals in all competitions.
It is reported that the duo are valued at approximately £13m by their current club but it remains to be seen whether Arsenal agree with that assessment and if the pair can indeed tempt the Gunners into letting Xhaka leave.
