How Arsenal could line-up without Rob Holding against Huddersfield

Arsenal head coach Unai Emery faces a selection headache if he opts to continue with a three man defence in light of Rob Holding’s knee injury in midweek.

Holding is expected to miss much of the remainder of the season after being stretchered off in Arsenal’s 2-2 draw at Manchester United and his place could be taken by right-back Stephan Lichtsteiner when Huddersfield visit the Emirates.

Arsenal have confirmed that the defender raptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee and will be sidelined for six to nine months.

Laurent Koscielny’s recovery from an Achilles injury has seen him appear twice for Freddie Ljungberg’s Under-23 side and though Emery has indicated he could feature in some capacity on Saturday a starting role would appear unlikely.

Meanwhile Granit Xhaka is set to return in midfield after serving a one game ban, taking Matteo Guendouzi’s place, but Mesut Ozil is unlikely to be risked amid an ongoing back problem.

Probable Arsenal XI (3-4-3): Leno; Lichtsteiner, Mustafi, Sokratis; Bellerin, Torreira, Xhaka, Kolasinac; Iwobi, Aubameyang, Mkhitaryan
