How Arsenal could line up with three dream summer signings

Arsenal may not be participating in European competition next season but they will determined to get back to the big time as soon as possible.

The Gunners secured an eighth-place finish in the Premier League after Tottenham's late win against Leicester saw them miss out on qualification for the European Conference League.

Despite missing out, manager Mikel Arteta and technical director Edu are still expected to press on with their transfer plans ahead this summer as they look to strengthen the squad.

Thomas Partey, Pablo Mari, Cedric Soares, Willian, Gabriel and Alex Runarsson all signed permanent deals with the club last summer, and it's expected to be even busier over the next few months where incomings and outgoings are concerned.

Below we take a look at three different dream scenarios as we enter the summer transfer window and look at how Arsenal might line up next season.

Arsenal's form since the turn of the year has improved dramatically, although there are still concerns about the brand of football being played.

There were clear vulnerabilities in certain areas of the pitch and Kieran Tierney's injury at left-back showed how important it will be to recruit a left-back this summer.

Hector Bellerin will be sold if an adequate offer comes in for him, which means a new right-back will be needed.

Norwich starlet Max Aarons is clearly the prime target of most top clubs right now, and he would be the perfect player to replace the Spaniard

football.london previously reported Arsenal's interest in Yves Bissouma as far back as January, and it's understood the Brighton midfielder would be keen on joining his good friend Nicolas Pepe at Emirates Stadium this summer.

RB, CM, CAM

Arsenal director Josh Kroenke has made assurances that KSE will invest this summer and the ultimate show of ambition would be to sign a player like Houssem Aouar.

The Gunners had previously bid for the Lyon midfielder last summer, but saw their attempts rejected and instead went to sign Thomas Partey.

Aouar would be a dream addition to the Arsenal midfield, while a permanent deal for Martin Odegaard could help further solve the creativity issues that Arteta's side struggled with at the start of last season.

A number of forwards have been linked but with Gabriel Martinelli and Folarin Balogun waiting in the wings, it would make more sense to give the youngsters opportunities alongside the current experienced frontmen at the club.
