How Arsenal and Manchester United defeats have affected top-four race with Tottenham and Chelsea

The race for a top-four finish and the Champions League football that comes with it continues to be fierce, with the fight set to venture into the final weeks.

Tottenham Hotspur’s 1-0 victory over Brighton on Tuesday evening saw Mauricio Pochettino’s side take a significant step towards playing in Europe’s elite competition next season and it was the turn of Arsenal and Manchester United on Wednesday.

However, the Gunners missed the opportunity to return to the top-four after losing 3-1 to Wolves at Molineux and have now suffered back-to-back defeats in the Premier League, raising the importance of their Europa League campaign.

United also fell short against their arch rivals Manchester City, losing 2-0 at Old Trafford and leaving Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side with a stern test ahead of them - with this weekend’s clash with Chelsea set to be decisive.

Here, we've identified how things stand in the top-four race with the odds, remaining fixtures and recent form for all four sides.
