How are you enjoying the rapture?

If you are like me, you logged onto social media to suddenly see people claiming we’re all going to die and be raptured. Which can be jarring if you didn’t live through the Mayan Calendar theories and Y2K. Now, it’s just another day at the office.

Basically, Christian TikTok (which is a thing) has decided that the rapture is on September 23, 2025. No one can figure out why they think this but it is just what they have decided is the truth. As is always the case with this stuff, no one takes into account that it is already Wednesday the 24th in places like Australia but I guess that throws a wrench in their fear mongering.

I was minding my own business, scrolling on social media, when I suddenly saw it. Oh, we’re all perishing on the 23rd? Okay. Should I go get another tattoo to celebrate? How do we know if it happened at all? What if we all end up stuck here because everyone is a complicated being and no one is a perfect angel? It really makes you think.

The reality is that we as a society have considered many different dates to be the “end” of it all. At this point, we’re all going to be joking about the rapture whenever we all end up going up in a puff of smoke because we’re exhausted by the idea of it but it is funny how quickly everyone began talking about the end of times.

So, if you’re still here: What are your plans for surviving? Personally, I’m going to get a drink and maybe watch a movie but that’s just my post-rapture vibe. Someone else thought that maybe it happened and we all were saved in the rapture and this is Heaven which…please god no.

Whatever actually happens, at least we’re all in this together, right?
