How Antonio Brown played in his debut for the Patriots

Impressive is an understatement for Antonio Brown’s debut game with the New England Patriots.

Brown entered the offensive huddle on the second snap of a 43-0 rout against the Miami Dolphins, and dominated the first half. Tom Brady and Brown connected for three receptions and 36 yards on the first drive alone.

His first catch on that drive was an effortless 18-yard reception.

He finished the game with four receptions, 56 receiving yards and a receiving touchdown — while drawing a defensive holding penalty and rushing once for five yards. His first touchdown with New England came at the end of the second quarter, where Brady found him on a beautiful 20-yard back-shoulder pass.

Brown joined the team after their season opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers and he was accused of sexual assault shortly after. His name has been flowing through headlines and the Patriots have been trying to kill the noise and get him up to speed.

He began practicing with the team on Tuesday and quickly learned enough of the playbook to play in their Week 2 matchup. His football IQ is off the charts, and that’s why the Patriots decided to throw him out there.

They made the right decision.
