How an open draw could see Tipperary face Wexford in All-Ireland hurling qualifiers

Tipperary and Wexford could be set to cross paths in a repeat of last year's All-Ireland semi-final in this year's qualifiers.

Ahead of this weekend's first round, both counties drew a bye to the second round and are preparing for a potential open draw for the next round.

With Cork and Dublin facing off in the glamour tie of the round, Clare are hot favourites against Laois to progress.

The only scenario where a draw would not be open is if both Dublin and Laois win in the first round - meaning they can't be drawn together having already met in the Leinster quarter-final.

Should either side fail to win and the draw will be open with mouthwatering prospects for fans who remember their last four epic in 2019.

It was Liam Sheedy's men who finished stronger to book a place in the All-Ireland decider last summer in a Croke Park epic.

The draw the second round of All-Ireland qualifiers will take place on Morning Ireland on RTÉ Radio 1 at 8.35am next Monday.

The second round fixtures will be played on the weekend of 14-15 November.
