'How am I going to get through the day?': Charley Webb despairs at change in son's sleep pattern

Emmerdale star Charley Webb has opened up on Instagram about a change in her son's sleeping pattern now he's getting older.

Charley says she had just an hour's sleep after her youngest son Ace, who celebrated his first birthday last month, kept her awake.

The doting mum says the broken night's sleep, after her baby had been sleeping through, left her wondering how she was going to function through the following day.

"I literally had about an hour's sleep," she said in a video shared with her followers on Instagram.

"Ace was awake all night. It was just awful.

"At newborn stage you get used to it, then when they start sleeping through and they have a broken night's sleep I'm like 'how am I going to get through the day?'"

Charley, who has three children with her husband and Emmerdale co-star Matthew Wolfenden, recently shared the emotional journey to Ace starting walking.

"Ace is on the move!" she wrote next to an adorable video montage.

"I feel like he was a newborn five minutes ago and now he’s hit this huge milestone.

"Even third time around it’s just as magical and I love seeing him accomplish brand new things although it’s so emotional too."

Charley, who plays Debbie Dingle in the show, regularly shares frank posts about family life with her fans.

After reflecting on a 'lovely Sunday' earlier this month the 32-year-old actress from Bury admitted it wasn't always idyllic.

"Some days are not like this though, some days are stressful from start to finish and I’m really not just saying that," she wrote.

"Some days I can’t wait for bedtime. I’m so aware of people feeling like rubbish when they’re on social media because everyone’s life looks so perfect and theirs isn’t.

"Remember, people only post what they want you to see. Happy Sunday."

In May she shared a proud photo of herself and her family just a couple of hours after they welcomed Ace.

Alongside the smiling photo she told how she had suffered 'horrendous sickness' while pregnant with all of her children.

She also revealed that she had post-natal depression after giving birth to her eldest son Buster in April 2010.

She said that with her second child Bowie, born in December 2015, she was aware of how she felt so managed things 'much better.'

Charley, who has played Debbie in the ITV soap since 2000, posted on Instagram to encourage other mums to talk about their feelings and to raise funds for PANDAS Foundation Support for families coping with a perinatal mental illness occuring during pregnancy or in the first year following the birth of a child.

She said: "I can’t lie, I find being pregnant really hard but at the same time I do know how lucky I am to be able to fall pregnant pretty easily/at all.

"I had horrendous sickness with all three of the boys which pretty much lasted my whole pregnancies.

"I found it so hard to be able to function, all I wanted to do was lie down and sleep. Something that gets harder when you’ve got others running around."

Charley has also spoken about the 'leap' from having two to three children.

She wrote: "The jump from 2-3 I found the hardest. Luckily Ace is a really good baby but suddenly there’s more of them than there is of you.

"As I’ve got older (and had more babies) I’ve learnt that talking to friends and being honest with how I’m feeling has been the best thing for me.

"That would be my biggest piece of advice, be honest, be truthful. No feelings are wrong, no matter what they are. We all have good days and bad and that’s ok."
