How active will the Titans be after first phase of free agency?

The first big splash of the 2019 NFL Free Agency period has come and gone.

Quality names like Justin Houston, Ndamukong Suh  and Ziggy Ansah remain available, but the Tennessee Titans have stayed almost perfectly quiet after their initial flurry of mid-March signings.

Does this mean the Titans are done making moves until the draft next month? Not so fast.

While Tennessee likely won’t make any more big deals in free agency, there’s still a fair chance they could ink some players to one-year deals.

Titans team reporter Jim Wyatt fielded a question on this subject matter in a recent mailbag post.

“Well, the first phase of free agency is over. But that doesn’t mean the team is finished,” he wrote. “I still suspect the team will make an addition or so, but I can’t make any promises on which players might be of interest. I’m thinking some one-year deals are still out there.

Wyatt also provided a direct quote from general manager Jon Robinson.

“I haven’t gotten the update from Vin yet,” said Robinson, referring to Titans VP of Football Administration Vin Marino, who handles the contracts. “But he hasn’t told me to put the phone down or to stop fielding calls yet. Until he says stop, I’m going to keep going.”

The Titans are very much still in the market for free agents, but don’t expect the team to be handing out any more major contracts in 2019.
