One punter has won big after they placed a small 20 cent bet on a Euromillions draw.
A typical Tuesday evening turned out to be a day to remember for a Co Westmeath punter after their tiny wager on the EuroMillions draw paid off.
The bet defied enormous odds of 33,000/1 to return a handsome four-figure amount.
The anonymous customer placed the wager in a BoyleSports shop and parted with some of their loose change on the bet for four numbers to be drawn from the EuroMillions draw that evening.
The lucky numbers they selected were 19, 20, 26 and 33.
The customer was left delighted after all four numbers rolled out of the machine.
The ambitious bet came in, resulting in the punter winning an incredible amount of €6,600.20 from the tiny 20 cent investment.
Sarah Kinsella, a spokesperson for BoyleSports, said: "We must send huge congratulations to our Westmeath customer who only required a small 20 cent investment to take us for €6,600 profit.
"Their ambition deserves all the rewards, and we hope they have a good time spending the winnings during the festive period."
