How a question about a Russian athlete cracked up Bradley Walsh on The Chase

A question on Tuesday's episode of The Chase really tickled presenter Bradley Walsh and it had fans laughing too.

The host of the ITV game show was in fits of laughter after seeing some of the multiple choice options contestant Neil was facing on the show.

Bus driver Neil, from South Wales, was trying to win some money to upgrade his car and treat his four daughters to a holiday.

He was asked: "What is the name of the athlete who was the first woman to run the 400-metre hurdles in under 53 seconds?"

Bradley revealed that the first answer was 'Marina Stepanova', the second was 'Marina Upandova', but it was the third option that really caused a stir.

The Mirror reported that The Chase host burst out laughing before he even read the third answer out.

When he finally regained his composure, Bradley revealed the third multiple choice answer was 'Marina Getalegova'.

While Neil and Chaser Shaun Wallace had a stab at the answer, Bradley collapsed onto the game board.

He said: "Marina Getalegova. I hope it’s that. Brilliant."

However, the correct answer was actually 'Marina Stepanova'.

Neil managed to get home and eventually defeated The Dark Destroyer in the final chase and won £4,000.

The Chase fans took to Twitter after laughing at the presenter's reaction.

One viewer said: "Brad laughing at made up answers , might as well give him the answer ....."

"Bradley just makes me laugh so much," added another.

A third said: "Bradley is like a naughty schoolboy isn't he?"

The Chase airs weekdays on ITV at 5pm.
