With the cost of living crisis affecting everyone's budget we are all looking for a way to cut costs - especially with the likes of food.
Savvy shoppers often find deals to make their money go further. But there are other ways to cut costs, including extending the life of the food in your cupboard.
Bread is a household food staple and can be used for many tasty, quick and filling meals. But often, it can be difficult to get through a whole loaf before it goes stale.

Some people prefer to freeze their bread, only defrosting it when they're ready to use it. You can freeze whole loaves or in slices so you can take out a slice or two at a time to toast or use for sandwiches.
But you should never keep your bread in the fridge. The starch molecules in bread recrystallize very quickly at cool temperatures, and causes the bread to stale much faster when refrigerated.
Shop-bought loaves should be kept in an air-tight plastic bag at room temperature rather than in the fridge - Bread boxes are great if you want to keep a loaf for a couple of days, reported Good House Keeping.
But there's one little trick, involving water, which can help to inject new life into a bit of bread that is on the turn. Good House Keeping said: "The best way to refresh bread that has staled is to run the loaf under tap water until the crust is wet, then heat it for five to 10 minutes in a 180˚C oven. The starch molecules will re-absorb the water and your bread will be nicely revived."
If bread has gone a little bit stale it can still be used too. Either as breadcrumbs or put it in the freezer to use as croutons at a later date.
