Head of the Iran-backed Houthi militias has ordered its senior members, as well as officials from its illegitimate government, to deploy at battlefronts in order to lift the morale of fighters, informed sources in Sanaa told Asharq Al-Awsat.
Several other leaders were tasked with recruiting new fighters to join the militias.
Houthi Health Minister Taha al-Moutawakel was ordered to head to the ground in the Hodeidah province.
Other militia leaders were assigned to the field in the Ibb, Raimah, Sanaa and Dhamar provinces.
The sources revealed that Dhamar governor Mohammed Hussein al-Maqdeshi was ordered to head to the Qania front that is located between Marib and al-Baydah.
Houthi fighters are suffering from very low morale on the majority of fronts given their rapid losses on the ground, most notably on the West coast and al-Baydha.
The legitimate forces, backed by the Saudi-led Arab coalition, have been making advances against the militias.
Separately, the Houthis continue to impede the delivery of aid, by seizing relief shipments in a number of regions, said local rights sources.
The most notable looting took place on the routes between Sanaa, Dhamar and Hodeidah, they said.
They said that Houthi senior official Abdulwahhab Sharafeddine, who was appointed head of the so-called national humanitarian affairs and disaster authority, had ordered that all food aid shipments be seized.
He justified his decision by claiming that the aid was provided by local organizations that are not recognized by the Houthis.
