Houthi militias prevented an international plane from landing in Sanaa on Friday, said a Yemeni diplomatic source based in the Jordanian capital, Amman.

The plane was expected to transport the sons of the slain former president Ali Abdullah Saleh and some of his relatives outside Yemen.

According to reports, the United Nations commissioned a plane to take Salah and Moudin, the sons of Saleh out of Yemen.

“The United Nations has assigned a plane to board the children of the former president, Salah and Moudi, out of Yemen, according to the agreement to release them signed by the Houthi coup," the Yemeni official news agency Saba quoted the diplomatic source as saying.

Speaking on the condition of anonymity, the source says the plane took off from Amman airport and headed to Sanaa, but Houthis prevented its landing and forced its return to Amman.

“The breach of the agreement confirms the lack of Houthi seriousness in engaging in peace-making endeavors, as well as its continued violation of unanimously reached agreements,” the source added.

As for battlefield developments, army forces fighting against Houthi posts in Saada--a militia stronghold --managed to kill 12 Houthi fighters and injured others in a tight military operation in Baqam district, north of the province.

As for Hajjah governorate, 18 Houthi militants were killed in clashes with pro-government forces.

A field source said that clashes broke out after Houthis tried to infiltrate into army positions in the vicinity of the Directorate of Hiran, asserting that the army forces thwarted the attempt and inflicted losses upon coupists, forcing them to flee.
