The Houston Texans actually had performances worthy of critical acclaim in 2020.
According to the team’s official website, the Texans’ video production team earned three Lone Star Emmy nominations earlier in June.
The Texans picked up nominations for three videos: “The Story Behind the Vocie” about Texans play-by-play Marc Vandermeer’s career journey and also a video about former safety Michael Thomas, who was the team’s Walter Payton Man of the Year Award nominee. Both videos were entered into the “Sports Story: Short form content (up to 10 minutes)” and were produced by Tyler Suddarth and Nicholas Patterson.
Suddarth and Patterson were also nominated in the “Program Promotion” category for a video about the Texans’ commitment to social change. For Suddarth, it is a chance to add another Emmy as he was the executive producer for “We Are Texans: Wild Card Playoff Game Trailer,” a hype video played in NRG Stadium before the 2019 AFC wild-card against the Buffalo Bills.
