Houston Texans coach Bill O'Brien wears England cap ahead of Rugby World Cup final after Eddie Jones support

Houston Texans head coach Bill O’Brien has thrown his support behind England’s Rugby World Cup finalists by donning a red rose-branded hat for his NFL London Game press conference.

O’Brien is in London with his side as they prepare for Sunday’s Wembley clash with the Jacksonville Jaguars, and also wore the England cap during the team’s practice at London Irish’s training facility on Friday.

He made the gesture after England rugby coach Eddie Jones was spotted in a Texans cap at Sunday’s semi-final between Wales and South Africa.

Jones’ men take on South Africa in Yokohama on Saturday morning, looking to win the Web Ellis Cup for the second time, and O’Brien said his team were hoping to catch the game.

“Coach was wearing the Houston Texans hat so I felt like I wanted to represent them,” O’Brien said.

"It’s the least I could do, to wish them luck in the World Cup final. I know it’s a huge game for the fans over here.

"We’ll try and watch it in the morning. We’ve got a lot of things to get done relative to the game but we’ll try to tune in and I just want to wish them the best of luck.”
