Police in Houston are responding to reports of a man shooting at vehicles at a shopping centre.
Officer said they had shot the officer and were not looking for any other suspects.
Local media reported that a bomb squad had been dispactched to the scene to investigate a suspicious vehicle.
Police said multiple casualties were being ferried to local hospitals.
