Houston Rockets join ‘High School vs. Now’ craze on social media

With NBA games still approximately one month away, the Houston Rockets are getting creative with their official social media content.

Alongside pictures from this season, the team released photos Tuesday of current members of the Rockets from their high school playing days. It’s all part of the “High School versus Now” challenge, which has taken off across social media platforms such as Twitter and Instagram.

The rundown begins with then-and-now photos of the All-Star backcourt of James Harden and Russell Westbrook. Both former MVPs and future Hall of Famers grew up in the greater Los Angeles area.

Other players shown in the challenge are reserve guards Austin Rivers and Eric Gordon. who were featured in their McDonald’s All-American Game attire. In fact, Gordon and Harden actually played for the same team in the 2007 edition of the annual high-school showcase.
