A heartfelt tribute has been paid to a Houston nursery teacher who has died following a short illness.
Lesley Laird, who worked at Houston Early Learning and Childcare Centre for more than 20 years, was described as having "touched, influenced and shaped" the lives of many children in a letter to families this week.
Headteacher Jennifer Murray said Lesley had a "game for every occasion" and forged strong relationships with parents, colleagues and youngsters.

Lesley was well-known for running a book club at the nursery and led a forest school for several years teaching children about the great outdoors.
"Lesley was a particularly skilled practitioner who was passionate about the importance of nurture and literacy in young children's development," said Jennifer in her letter.
"She played a key role in developing the warm and supportive ethos of our nursery and inspired a love of reading through her storytelling and book club.
"Her love of nature and outdoors inspired her learning about forest schools which she led for several years.
"She had a game for every occasion. Children were drawn to her warm, fun and friendly personality.
"She was a firm believer in the strength of teamwork and forged positive relationships with children, colleagues and parents alike.
"Our thoughts are very much with Lesley's family Gordon, Ross and Emma who many of our staff have got to know well over the years.
"Lesley will be remembered with great fondness. She will be sorely missed."
Jennifer went on to describe Lesley as a "great role model" to her colleagues and someone who had a "great sense of humour".
And she was regarded as the person to turn to when everyone needed a bit of a sing-song to brighten their spirits.
Jennifer added: "Lesley will be best remembered for having a song for every situation.
"Whether it was tears, a sore finger, tooth brushing, or a Christmas celebration, Lesley was able to draw on her immense experience and 'tool kit', finding the appropriate ditty to bring a smile to everyone.
