Houston Dynamo in Vaclav Hladky transfer push as St Mirren adopt firm stance over keeper

Houston Dynamo want to buy St Mirren keeper Vaclav Hladky.

The Major League Soccer outfit have already had a £200,000 package turned down in recent weeks.

Dynamo are ready to up the ante again in a bid to land the 29-year-old and are ready to go up to around £300,000 to land him.

Hladky has become a firm favourite at St Mirren since he signed from Slovan Liberec last January.

Saints' current stance is that they don’t want to sell Hladky.

Boss Jim Goodwin's problem is that the club are likely to lose him for nothing when his contract expires at the end of the season.

Dynamo coach Tab Ramos has made a goalkeeper a top signing priority for their new season.

Houston traded Joe Willis to Nashville SC and is now looking to bring in a replacement.

Dynamo goalkeeping coach Paul Rogers has been alerted by Hladky’s impressive statistics and has also had him watched in recent weeks and he is now their top target.

Hladky played a key part in keeping Saints in the Premiership last season and has been another key performer again.

Qarabag failed with an offer back in August while Rangers have also scouted him.

Hladky but are unlikely to move unless their back-up keeper Wes Foderingham moves on.

It all depends on whether St Mirren feel they are better served keeping Hladky or using the money to strengthen other areas in their fight for survival.
