Houston Dash Secures First Win With Last-Minute Goal Thriller

Launch of Russian Soyuz MS-25 spacecraft canceled at last minute

Havana Solaun's goal in the 10th minute of stoppage time spoiled Bay FC's home opener and gave the Houston Dash a 3-2 comeback victory on Saturday. Deyna Castellanos scored her first NWSL goal in the first half for Bay FC, but a second-half Diana Ordóñez brace put the Dash ahead.

Racheal Kundananji equalized in the 93rd minute before Solaun's last-minute goal secured Houston's first win of the season. Castellanos opened the scoring, but Ordóñez's two goals in the second half turned the tide in favor of the Dash.

Ordóñez's first goal came in the 66th minute after a well-executed play involving María Sánchez. Her second goal, in the 87th minute, followed a penalty awarded to Houston due to a handball in the box.

In another match, Kansas City maintained their perfect record with a 4-2 victory over Angel City. Vanessa DiBernardo and Alexa Spaanstra scored for Kansas City, while Sydney Leroux and Madison Curry found the net for Angel City.

Elsewhere, Racing Louisville's Uchenna Kanu scored two early goals against Portland Thorns, but Sam Coffey's late goal secured a 2-2 draw for Portland. Kanu's brace marked the fastest in league history.

In North Carolina, Brianna Pinto's first-half goal led the Courage to a 1-0 win over Gotham FC, the reigning NWSL champions. Pinto's goal, assisted by Ashley Sanchez, proved to be the difference in the match.

Overall, the NWSL matches showcased thrilling performances and exciting comebacks, highlighting the competitive nature of the league. With teams like Houston Dash, Kansas City, and Portland Thorns displaying strong form, the season promises more action-packed encounters ahead.
