Arsenal are back in competitive football action this afternoon as they face Liverpool in the FA Community Shield.
The Gunners want to improve upon a disappointing eighth spot in the Premier League last term, though they did defeat Chelsea in the FA Cup final.
Premier League champions Liverpool offer Mikel Arteta's side a perfect acid test ahead of the start of the 2020/21 league season next month.
Ahead of the clash at Wembley, we thought we'd take a look at the top stories on Arsenal prior to the showdown. Here is your morning digest below.
Triple appointment announced
Arsenal made a big announcement before their Community Shield clash with Liverpool.
The Gunners confirmed that several changes have been made to Arteta's coaching and backroom staff ahead of the new campaign.
Andreas Georgson and Miguel Molina have joined the club from Brentford and Atletico Madrid respectively. They will be part of Arteta's coaching team following the exits of Freddie Ljungberg and Sal Bibbo.
Carlos Cuesta has also made the switch from Juventus and Jordan Reece has replaced Chris Morgan in the physio room.
Aouar admission
Arsenal target Houssem Aouar has responded to transfer links with the Gunners.
The Lyon midfielder has attracted bags of attention recently and Arsenal are one of the teams eyeing the 22-year-old.
But he is remaining coy on his future at Lyon for now, with the playmaker speaking out in an interview with L'Equipe.
“I haven't left yet. So I haven't asked this question,” the midfielder said, before reiterating that he was still currently a Lyon player.
Aouar, however, did add 'that one is very tough' when questioned about what he plans to do next.
Arteta makes transfer decision
Arsenal boss MIkel Arteta has decided that Emiliano Martinez is surplus to requirements at the Emirates.
That's according to The Athletic, who state that Arsenal are willing to part ways with the 27-year-old goalkeeper.
The report says Arteta has made it clear to Martinez that Bernd Leno is the club's number one keeper moving forward.
