Houssem Aouar 'ready' for Arsenal switch as Luis Suarez' role in transfer highlighted

Here is your Arsenal morning digest for Friday, September 25.

Aouar ‘ready to join Arsenal’ - reports

Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar is reportedly ready to join Arsenal in this transfer window.

That is according to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano who claims that the Gunners could land one of their most well-documented transfer targets.

Speaking on the Here We Go podcast, Romano stated that Aouar is prepared to join Mikel Arteta’s squad amid continued speculation over his future at Lyon.

The 22-year-old would bring an extra dimension to Arsenal’s midfield that could drastically change Arsenal’s long-term ambitions.

Lacazette ‘still on the market’

Alexandre Lacazette is reportedly still on the market as Arsenal look to raise funds for transfer funds elsewhere.

That is according to the Independent who state that the Gunners could sell Lacazette in order to fund a move for Aouar.

The French centre forward has been a key figure under Arteta but the continued progression of Eddie Nketiah could see the Gunners cash in on one of their most valuable assets.

Lacazette has been frequently linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium in this transfer window and this stands as the most significant step in Arsenal selling him.

How Luis Suarez could help Arsenal midfield change

Luis Suarez could reportedly play a significant role in deciding Arsenal’s midfield options by the end of the transfer window.

According to AS, Suarez has urged new club Atlético Madrid to sign Uruguayan teammate Lucas Torreira.

The Arsenal midfielder has been linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium throughout this transfer window and Suarez’s reported endorsement of Torreira could see a chain of events in the market.

For Arsenal, Torriera’s departure would allow the Gunners to shift their focus to transfer targets like Aouar and Thomas Partey. Both of those players could be more viable solutions if money comes in from potential departures like Torriera.
