EAC's website housingcare.org is the UK's leading portal for housing and care options in later life. It provides over 25,000 detailed profiles of sheltered and retirement housing developments throughout the UK developed and managed by private, public and independent providers. It also provides over 13,000 housing with care options. The information provided embraces all forms of later life housing from sheltered, assisted living, extra care, close care, continuing care communities, retirement villages and care homes. The site is an important tool for promoting quality assurance through the EAC Quality of Information Mark and it provides a continuous window on the Housing and Arts Awards.
Over 2 Million people a year visit the site to access information on accommodation and home services and to connect with FirstStopAdvice. Housing providers use the site to update and extract data; government and the housing and social care policy communities value the site for its accuracy and comprehensiveness; researchers and policymakers consult its unrivalled library on elderly care; and advertisers have found it an excellent medium for promoting their goods and services. In the last year EAC has completed a transformation of the site installing a new CRM system to better engage with consumers and to widen digital inclusion. Recently the site has showcased EAC's new resident's consultation service developed from its National Housing for Older People Awards launched in 2009. This bespoke service is available to all housing providers who wish to use EAC's card game to canvass their residents' views.
