Residents in South Ayrshire will be given the chance to shape future housing plans of the council.
The local authority says it wants to hear from the public as it collates its draft housing need and demand assessment (HNDA) 2021-2025.
The document could influence housing developments and how the council responds to important issues, such as homelessness, over the next five years.
The HNDA will also play a key role in decision-making to support public and private developers as they bid to meet the specific needs of communities, including housing for older people or those with disabilities.
Council leader Peter Henderson said: “We need to ensure that housing across South Ayrshire is fit for purpose and meets the needs of everyone.
“This is not just about bricks and mortar; this is about building communities and to do that effectively we need to listen.
“I would encourage the public to get involved and help guide our housing policies over the next five years and beyond.”
Feedback captured during the consultation will be used to develop the local housing strategy as well as future local development plans.

The consultation closes on Friday, August 20.
