Housing association raise four-figure sum for St Andrew's Hospice

St Andrew's Hospice is £6000 richer thanks to the kind-hearted efforts of a housing association.

The Clyde Valley Group handed over a bumper cheque to the Airdrie facility following a year of fundraising.

Despite the hurdles of the pandemic, the team managed to raise more than £3000 for the charity via staff payroll-giving and a series of sponsored events and raffles.

The terrific total was then matched by the Clyde Valley Group, allowing a donation of more than £6000 to be handed over to the hospice.

Clyde Valley’s CSR team also coordinated a grant of £10,000 from the Lintel Trust which will be used for the hospice’s "Hearty Meals" project.

Lorrett Mccutcheon, fundraiser for St Andrew’s Hospice, told Lanarkshire Live : “We’d like to say a massive thank you to all the amazing staff at Clyde Valley Group.

"Their kindness will help us to continue to deliver front-line palliative care to the people of Lanarkshire. To have delivered this amount remotely during all the challenges of the pandemic speaks volumes about their determination to help during what has been such a tough time. Amazing work Clyde Valley."

Amy Robertson from the CSR team at Clyde Valley Group added: “Our annual charity is chosen by team members and they coordinate all the fundraising.

"We meet monthly and all lead on different campaigns and events. Everybody gets to feed in ideas and help to make a difference.

"There were teams organising sponsored activity during events such as International Cancer Day and also through raffles at Christmas time.

"By the nature of providing homes for thousands of people across Lanarkshire, the team at Clyde Valley are part of the community and it’s so rewarding to make this contribution.”
