Why will I love it?
Incorporating red elements into a space can significantly enhance its appeal. The rosso varietal of the emerald ripple plant (Peperomia caperata), with its striking deep red and green foliage and ripple-like texture, is an excellent candidate.
Light or shade?
Thrives in bright, indirect light, though it can tolerate lower light conditions.
Where should I put it?
Near a east or west-facing window, where it can benefit from gentle sunlight throughout the day.
How do I keep it alive?
Allow the top inch of soil to dry out between waterings, then water thoroughly. Maintaining slightly moist soil is preferred, but the plant can withstand occasional drying out. Also, maintain moderate to high humidity by regularly misting the leaves or placing a small humidifier nearby. Keep the plant warm, between 18C and 24C.

The emerald ripple is native to South America. One school of thought is that Peperomias, commonly known as radiator plants, derive their name from their preference for bright and dry environments akin to those found above a radiator.
