Household garbage in Germany has remarkably increased this year during the pandemic.

According to a survey carried out by the German Federation of Waste, Water and Raw Materials Management involving its member companies, the quantity of plastic, light packaging, and glass collected this year has jumped by 6 percent. The federation said during pandemics, people eat less outside their houses, stop visiting restaurants, and buy more canned products or order food deliveries.

The federation concluded that based on the survey's results, avoiding wastes and garbage is not possible during the pandemic.
