Brits have shared a very simple item that can be bought for as little as 20 pence at Aldi which can get rid of some of the toughest bathroom stains in just a few minutes.
Toilet cleaning is not one of the most pleasant home chores but vinegar can make life a lot easier when tackling some of the harder marks to remove.
Vinegar can work wonders in getting rid of the typical limescale that builds up. It is the chalky deposit, that can be found in bathrooms and kitchens around taps, toilet bowls, baths, pipes and any water area you come into contact with on a regular basis.
Not only does it look unsightly, but it can also do a lot of damage to your pipes, reported the Manchester Evening News.
Thankfully, there's one ingredient that can help to remove limescale in just "five minutes" - and vinegar is probably sitting in your kitchen cupboard.
Cleaning fans shared their top tips on how to get rid of the limescale marks on Reddit, and one, in particular, was picked up on as a great solution.
One user said the secret to ridding the stubborn grime is to use something acidic.
They said: "Start with white vinegar, though brown works just as well.
"Put some in a spray bottle, spray it on, wait five mins then give it a scrub. Do this a few times."
As limescale is made of calcium carbonate, an alkaline, the high percentage of acetic acid it contains works to break through the hard deposits.
The Reddit user continued: "If vinegar does no good, you can try other acids.
"The strongest one is 'Spirit of Salts'.
"Use with great caution, follow the instructions on the bottle, ventilate the area thoroughly and wear protective gear as it will advise.
"I applied a dilute solution with a brush and it worked a treat for me."
People can pick up white vinegar very easily in most supermarkets for as cheap as 20 pence.
