Housebuilder to donate £4000 to Lanarkshire village Trust as part of first phase of new development

A housebuilder has teamed up with a local organisation to donate £25 for each home sold and legally completed within the first phase of its development in a Lanarkshire village.

Taylor Wimpey West Scotland will pay a grand total of £4025 to Glenboig Development Trust as the funding accounts for 161 properties at its Meadowside development.

The four-figure donation follows other support Taylor Wimpey West Scotland has given to the Trust over the past 18 months including donations of soil for the community garden, helping its annual children’s Christmas party and the supply of tree saplings to form part of the Queen’s Green Canopy project.

This latest initiative signals a long-term relationship with Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, and the money will go directly to supporting the work that Glenboig Development Trust provides at The Life Centre in the village.

Teresa Aitken, operations manager at Glenboig Development Trust, told Lanarkshire Live : “We are extremely grateful for the support that we have received from Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, and we can’t thank them enough for their latest generous donation.

"This money will be put to work locally to help us deliver our range of projects to the local community in Glenboig.

"On behalf of everyone who uses our services and projects in Glenboig, I would like to say a huge thank you."

Audrey Ross, sales and marketing director at Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, added: “We are delighted to be able to support Glenboig Development Trust in this meaningful way.

"Our announcement signals the creation of a relationship with a very worthy local organisation that will provide a link between the new community emerging at our Meadowside development, and the existing community of Glenboig.

"Working with Glenboig Development Trust is a real honour and we are extremely proud to be continuing our support.

“Being able to work with local charities and organisations that surround our developments means a great deal to us, and it’s always lovely to know that we are helping to make a difference to the lives of people in our local communities.”
