Housebuilder to donate £10,000 to charities, community groups and causes linked to its Lanarkshire developments

A housing developer is set to donate £10,000 to charities, community groups and causes linked to its developments in the West of Scotland, including Stoneyetts Village in Moodiesburn, over the next year.

Miller Homes has announced the creation of a Community Fund allowing groups to apply for funding to support their projects.

From local sports teams looking for sponsorship, nurseries looking to equip their garden or perhaps a food bank in need of additional supplies, the organisation wants to support its neighbours across Moodiesburn.

The fund, which officially launches tomorrow, September 28, covers all of Miller Homes’ developments in its Scotland West region.

Applications for this first round will close on November 11, after which donations between a minimum of £250 and a maximum of £2000 will be awarded to the successful applicants.

Two funding rounds will take place each year in June and November, and applications will be accepted throughout the year.

Each of Miller Homes’ 10 regional offices across the UK will have its own £10,000 fund, which combined will contribute £100,000 to community initiatives across the country every year.

Louise Caldwell, sales director for Miller Homes Scotland West, told Lanarkshire Live : “Community is a core value at Miller Homes. We put passion into building quality homes, creating new neighbourhoods and take pride in supporting residents to make Moodiesburn a better place to live.

"We’re fortunate to have many inspiring groups across Moodiesburn doing everything they can to improve their community. From supporting vulnerable members of society to enhancing the green spaces for families to enjoy, our Community Fund will help as many of these projects as we can.

"We’re encouraging organisations of all shapes and sizes to reach out and tell us what we can do to support their mission.”
