Housebuilder to create flats on former London and Epsom police sites

THE MALINS GROUP CGI. FORMER EPSOM POLICE STATION SITE

A London and home counties luxury housebuilder on Thursday shrugged off Brexit jitters and said it has bought a number of sites once home to police, to redevelop into flats.

The Malins Group has bought a former police married quarters building on Royal Hill in Greenwich from the Metropolitan Police as well as the closed Epsom Police station from the Police and Crime Commissioner for Surrey.

No purchase price was revealed, but the developer wants to create 29 apartments on each site.

Following construction, the completed projects would have combined value of £25 million.

Lauren Atkins, managing director of The Malins Group said: "We have bought these sites despite Brexit uncertainties. In fact, we are seeing real opportunities in the market as a result of others holding back and taking a wait and see stance.”

She added: “We are committed to expanding our portfolio and are now looking for more residential, mixed use, build-to-rent and investment opportunities nationwide.”
