A housebuilder is planning to construct more homes on undeveloped land in one of Kilmarnock's most popular estates.
Bellway Homes is proposing to build 58 new houses in the Moorfield estate.
The English housebuilder's pre-application notice to East Ayrshire Council states that permission for 56 dwellings was previously granted for the parcel of land off Dumfries Drive.
The site takes in a considerable piece of land between the B7081 and includes the estate's playpark.
At the moment the eyesore parcel of land is overgrown with temporary fencing surrounding the site.
Detailed designs for the site are currently being drawn up and will be put to an online pre-application consultation event expected to take place in June.
Plans emerge weeks after plans to build a giant distribution warehouse near the housing estate were given the green light.
There'll be space for almost 500 vans at the new Moorfield North Industrial Park hub, blueprints showed.
Bellway is still building homes less than a mile away at their Fardalehill estate where the firm was granted permission to build 90 houses.
The company was also behind the Potteries estate just off Western Road too.
A spokesman for Bellway Homes told Ayrshire Live: “This site is a part of a wider development by Bellway and Robertson Homes which started back in 2006.
"It was the last parcel not to be developed and has been granted planning permission previously for housing.
"Bellway now want to complete the development by building 58 new homes to maintain our long-standing presence in the Kilmarnock area.”
