A FIVE-BEDROOM house with views of the Traitors Highland filming location is on the market for £525,000.
Ardgowan House at Achandunie, Ardross, has an elevated position with views over the surrounding 1.74 acres of farmland and the Cromarty Firth, and towards Ardross Castle.
Much of the filming of the BBC hit show takes place in the castle grounds and on some of the local estates. Property seller Galbraith's has marketed the property, saying "it isn’t unusual to see the film crew out and about or catch glimpses of the local area on the programme itself".
The home, built in 2000, has five bedrooms (two with en suite shower rooms) plus three reception rooms, spacious dining kitchen, office, store room, utility room, WC and family bathroom.
Phiddy Robertson of Galbraith, who is handling the sale, said: “This is a beautiful home which has been thoughtfully designed for modern family life, with a wealth of reception spaces, two offices and useful ground floor bedroom.
"The setting and the gardens are particularly attractive, providing great privacy and tranquillity but only five minutes from Alness.”
Outbuildings include a double garage with power, lighting, and attached garden store plus a greenhouse, polytunnel and a double glazed, timber summer house with power and lighting.
The town of Alness is about five minutes by car (2.2 miles), while the city of Inverness, with its wide range of amenities and airport with regular flights to the south and Europe, is about 45 minutes.
The first ever celebrity version of The Traitors will be broadcast this autumn, with an all-star cast taking on the ultimate game of deceit and betrayal.
Who owns Ardross Castle from The Traitors?
The BBC castle has passed ownership many times, being purchased by the Duke of Sutherland in the 18th century before it was sold again in 1845 to Sir Alexander Matheson for £90,000.
The castle underwent many improvements under the supervision of engineer William Mackenzie.
After passing hands once again, the estate was broken up and sold in 1937. The castle itself was purchased by Mr and Mrs Austin Mardon before it was then sold to the McTaggart family in 1983.
According to Ardross Castle's website, the family began restoring the site to its former glory, repairing the walled garden and lawns.
When will The Celebrity Traitors be on TV?
