House with only two rooms going to auction for the bargain price of just £1

A house with just two rooms is poised to go under the hammer for the bargain basement price of £1.

A property auction company is selling the tiny one up and one down home so any buyer will have to think carefully about interior design

With such a small space comes a small guide price, at just £1, it is less than the bottle of bleach you might buy to clean it.

The hammer is likely to fall at a higher price though, especially as the little home found at the end of a terrace in Swansea, Wales.

Sellers say there is potential to create more space than currently exists.

The home in Swansea is going to auction for £1 with Paul Fosh Auctions (Paul Fosh Auctions)

Sean Roper of Paul Fosh Auctions, who are selling the property house, told Wales Online: "The property may currently be small but at that price and with the attached land to the rear it offers the new owner a blank canvas on which to create a cosy, modern home.

"With house prices across the UK, and especially in south Wales, rocketing this really does offer a new owner occupier or investor the opportunity to snap up possibly the bargain of a lifetime."

Sean says the two-storey property requires full refurbishment, with scope to extend, has a front door and can be accessed via its own side gate leading to private garden space.

With no kitchen or bathroom it is cash buyers only.

The property tour doesn't take too long - through the garden door from the street to the property's own private front door.

It has one room downstairs, a fireplace, a staircase and a cupboard under the stairs.

Climb the stairs and there's one room to view to ponder your £1 investment.

The UPVC front door and windows look recent, but there are a few instances of possible damp that just need checking out.

In the surprisingly large garden are the beginnings of an extension which needs some expert advice from an onsite inspection,

The plans show that there's a new addition to the house as a single-storey extension allocated as a kitchen, with the current existing ground floor room remaining as a lounge.

Upstairs, the plans show that there is enough room for a compact shower ensuite if designed with thought.

Maybe it would make the perfect first rung of the ladder for a first-time buyer.

Wales Online adds: "But as well as the eventual purchase price, there are the renovation costs to consider plus planning permission to secure.

"It might not be a straight-forward first property purchase, but what do you expect for potentially the price of a bottle of bleach?"

The next Paul Fosh Auctions online sale where the property will be offered for sale is on Tuesday, June 8.
