House shut down by police was linked to teenage 'Repo Gang'

A house tinned up because of criminal activity and anti-social behaviour is linked to the notorious teenage Repo Gang, the ECHO understands .

The gang have become infamous for stealing motorbikes, wreaking havoc on the streets and bragging about their criminal exploits on Instagram.

In another move to crackdown on the gang Merseyside Police have "recovered" a house on Cockerell Close which was a hub for anti-social behaviour and criminal activity.

Posting on social media the force posted a picture of a tinned up home .

The touching moment Liverpool's stars paid tribute to the Hillsborough 96

They said: "Following reports of ASB and Criminal Activity @MerseyPolice working with partners have recovered a house on Cockerell Close, L4 from the tenants."

The ECHO understands this is the same house connected to a raid on the Repo Gang in Cockerell Clos e in February this year.

The raid happened within an hour of yet another motorbike theft in the area after officers spotted a  stolen  Yamaha in the Breeze Hill Area and tracked it down to a house in Cockerell Close.

During the search an air rifle, the stolen motorbike and three mini motors were seized from the home.

Two people were  arrested , a 43-year-old woman and a 16-year-old boy, for handling stolen goods and taken into custody for questioning.

The ECHO has previously reported that other stolen vehicles thought to be taken by the same gang had been recovered in Cockerell Close in December last year.

A victim on the gang spoke out earlier this year and described how the Repo Gang teenagers regularly ride suspected stolen bikes dangerously around the area.

Who are the Repo Gang?

The group who have dubbed themselves the 'Repo Gang' are thought to be a group of teens aged between 15 and 18.

Members have been seen stealing motorbikes and then flaunting their thefts on social media, bragging about their haul and trying to sell the stolen goods.

Instagram accounts set up by the teenagers, who appear to be based in the  Kirkdale  area, show them posing with bikes and their faces covered by different stickers, including laughing face emojis.

In other posts some members of the gang seemed to be taunting officers by posing in fake police vests.
