House Republicans Strike Deal On Government Funding And Debt Limit

Donald Trump looks focused.

Following the recent announcement of a deal reached by House Republicans to prevent a government shutdown, President-elect Donald Trump expressed his approval on Truth Social. Trump praised the agreement, referring to it as a success for the American people. The deal, known as the American Relief Act of 2024, aims to keep the government operational, support farmers, and provide assistance to those affected by hurricanes.

Sources revealed that the deal involves extending current government funding levels for three months and suspending the debt limit for two years, a move that aligns with Trump's previous demands. Notably, the agreement also includes a provision to push back the debt ceiling deadline to January 30, 2027, a decision Trump emphasized as crucial for the 'America First Agenda.'
