Speaker Mike Johnson and a group of senior House Republicans are scheduled to convene at the White House today at 11 a.m. ET for a meeting with President Donald Trump. This gathering comes amidst internal disagreements within the party on how to move forward with their comprehensive agenda.
The House Republicans are currently at odds with their Senate counterparts regarding the strategy for advancing key legislative priorities. The Senate Republicans are planning to initiate the process next week by progressing a budget resolution. This resolution is intended to lay the groundwork for addressing issues such as border security, national defense, and energy production. However, the Senate's approach defers the consideration of a tax overhaul.

In contrast, House Republicans are advocating for the inclusion of their tax plan within the broader legislative package. Nevertheless, there has been discord within the House GOP ranks regarding the specifics of the budget proposal.
