A homeowner arrived home to find their house ransacked after burglars removed its alarm and CCTV systems in a daring daytime robbery in south Dublin.

A number of items were stolen in the shocking raid in the Cypress Drive area of Templeogue yesterday afternoon.

The owners of the property were not home at the time of the robbery, which took place some time between 12:30 and 5pm.

A garda spokesman told Dublin Live they are investigating the incident.

He said: "Gardaí are investigating a burglary that occurred at a house in the Cypress Drive area of Terenure on the afternoon of 16/6/20.

"A number of items were taken from the property which was unoccupied at the time. Investigations are ongoing."
