House Passes Billion Ukraine Security Appropriations Act

View of the U.S. Capitol prior vote on $95 billion in security assistance to Ukraine

The Ukraine Security Supplemental Appropriations Act was successfully passed by the House with a vote of 311-112, with one member, GOP Rep Dan Meuser, voting present. During the vote, Democrats showed their support by cheering and waving Ukrainian flags.

The $95 billion package includes a significant allocation of $61 billion designated for Ukraine and its regional partners. This funding aims to support Ukraine and other countries in the region in their efforts to combat Russia, mirroring the amount proposed in the Senate bill.

Within the total package, approximately $23 billion is earmarked for replenishing US weapons, stockpiles, and facilities, while over $11 billion is allocated to fund ongoing US military operations in the region.

Furthermore, a substantial portion of nearly $14 billion from the bill is intended to assist Ukraine in acquiring advanced weapons systems and other defense equipment to enhance its security capabilities.
