House of Shah curry house helping the vulnerable during coronavirus outbreak

A popular Hamilton takeaway has made a generous gesture to help out the vulnerable during the coronavirus outbreak.

The House of Shah, in Quarry Street, are hoping to provide essential items to those in need.

Johan Shah, who runs the business, said: “We have been receiving a lot of messages with regards to how we will operate now with coronavirus becoming a major issue in UK.

“At team House of Shah we have realised the dangers and staff will be taking the safety measures needed to keep staff and customers safe. However statistics say people over 65, and those with underlying issues, are more at risk.

“The elderly are struggling to get necessary essentials to protect themselves. Therefore, we will try to get supplies and speak to suppliers and if successful we will issue bags with a hand sanitiser, cleaning wipes and toilet roll – all free.

“This will be only for the elderly or disabled who cannot get any.

“We as a community, and human beings, should help those who are less fortunate. We are working hard to get supplies but as soon as we do we will post on our Facebook page and let you know.

“Everyone, please be safe and look after yourself and each other.”
