Netflix will serve up 13 new episodes of House of Cards on 4 March, the company announced Tuesday night.
The announcement came in the form of a political ad that aired on CNN during the fifth Republican presidential debate.
“It’s a new day in America. Today more people will go to work, return home to their families and sleep more soundly than ever before – all because one man refuses to settle, putting people before politics. That man is Frank Underwood,” said the ad’s narrator.
Frank Underwood, played by Kevin Spacey, is the fictional US lawmaker who has schemed his way up the political ladder, all the way into the Oval Office.
“America, I am only getting started,” Spacey says into the camera. Off screen, he continues: “I am Frank Underwood and I approve this message.”

It seems that Underwood is launching a campaign for a second term. In addition to airing the ad, Netflix had launched a hashtag #FU2016 and a website dedicated to the campaign, fu2016.com.
Fourteen hours before the ad aired, the show’s Twitter account warned that the announcement would be coming, tweeting: “BREAKING NEWS: President Underwood will be making a special announcement tonight during the #GOPDebate.”

Spacey also shared the ad from his personal account, tweeting – in character: “If you don’t like how the table is set, turn it over. Welcome to my campaign.”

House of Cards, one of Netflix’s original shows, was renewed for a fourth season back in April, about a month after its third season was released on the online streaming service.
Not everyone was thrilled by the news:
